My musings give you a sneak peak or full view of what goes on in my ever active mind...some crazy, some sane...hopefully you can relate. Let's relate! :)
I recently discovered that I like interacting with people.
For a very long time, I was shy and withdrawn…actually I still am. I am your "ideal introvert", whatever that means. But I like interacting and having
conversations with people. I find myself contributing without even thinking
about it…cracking jokes and taking friendly jabs at people. Sometimes, it takes me a while to get used to people, I usually like to observe before opening
up, but I've
found that my observing period has gotten shorter. Progress? Yes please!
This discovery of me enjoying conversations and interacting with people is a very new one, and somewhat strange, because I had somehow convinced myself that I'm very shy and would rather be on my own than be around people (which is still kinda true), but then I'm in the midst of people contributing to discussions and laughing loudly...go Aby!
Ever had one of those “wow” moments about yourself when
you’re like “did I really do that?” or “I didn't know I could do that”? Self
discovery is a very interesting journey, I guess this is why it is advised for
people to try to do new things as much as possible, because you never know
what you will enjoy or what you will be good at.
I actually consciously started a 'journey to self' process. I sat down,
pen and paper in hand and learnt about myself…weird? Maybe, but I can tell you
that I fell in love with myself in the process.
There is something about
knowing yourself that just makes you accept who you are wholly. Know your strengths,
your weaknesses, things you like and detest, your life values...everything!
There was a time I couldn't
answer
the “what do you like?” question, why? Because I didn't know myself at the time.
This doesn't mean that since I feel I know myself, it's the end of the journey for me, not at all! Self discovery is a lifelong process, and we discover new things about ourselves when we experience new things and meet new people, or it can just come like one of those "eureka" moments...like an epiphany of some sort. This has happened to me before, that sudden realization about yourself, and believe me when I say, it is a priceless feeling.
Self discovery is a never ending romance with oneself…it is
a fun and exciting process. Fall in love with yourself, you will be glad you
did!
Truly Yours,
