Hey guys!
So i'm sure some of you will agree with me that it's not easy to find that perfect suit with the perfect fit that sculpts you frame like it was made on your body. I've seen so many failed attempts when it comes to suits....but not to worry, i'm here to the rescue! LOL.
GUYS there are a few things to consider when picking a suit; If you really want to look dapper, its not too much to do...and trust me, you will definitely get some extra attention from the ladies *wink wink*...
- Shoulders: A good suit should hug your shoulders. Let it hold you firmly, in a friendly way! If you happen to buy one that doesn't fit right...please and pleaseee, take it to a GOOD tailor
- Torso: Your jacket should fit the silhouette of your frame. Have a tailor hold in the sides if necessary to highlight your shoulders.
- Sleeves: Think about width. Reduce the width to give them a fitted appearance to your arms.
- Stays: They are those small pieces of metal or hard paper found in the collar to keep your collar erect and stiff. Take them out before laundering and then get them back in there to keep the shirt looking smart.
- Lapels: Nothing defines a suit louder than the lapels. Try a suit with slim lapels
- Handkerchief/Pocket square: Wear your top pocket square to bring attention to the chest, not the belly.
- Cuff: Let a little shirt sleeve show through the cuffs of the suit as a finishing touch. It also lengthens the look of your arms....plus it really adds to a well dressed outlook.
- Belt: Your belt MUST match your shoes, and you don't have to wear a belt if your pants fit well.
- Pants: Slim, flat-front, and let it end at the top of your shoes...never longer.
- Tie: Its the first thing people notice. Keep it bold and classy and let it tie the rest of your outfit together. The tip of your tie should end at your belt line, no shorter, no longer.
- Buttons: Three is spicy but two is where its at. Low buttons will build a long slim look. You'll never go wrong wearing a two-button suit with a narrow lapel...it gives a completely classic look.
- Watch: Every outfit should have one timeless element, why not your watch? Consider a vintage model but make sure you buy it from a reputable dealer.
- Shoes: The one thing every man should own is the black lace ups. Real dress shoes have leather soles
